Walter has over 40 years of experience in public practice with a strong emphasis on corporate taxation, utilization of trusts and personal tax planning.
Walter articled with Peat Marwick Mitchell, predecessor to KPMG, in Victoria and, upon earning his Chartered Accountant designation, transferred to the company's Zurich offices until 1974. Walter began his own practice in 1976 and primarily provides financial and tax advice to owner-managed businesses, professionals and family trusts in the Greater Victoria area.
Walter is father to three children living in Victoria, Toronto, ON, and New York. He has five grandchildren. He enjoys skiing and the outdoors.
Sandy is a dedicated scholar and teacher in all aspects of taxation. His practice includes accounting and tax advice for professionals, owner-managed business, high net worth individuals and groups of privately held companies.
Sandy graduated with a BCom from UBC in 1984 and attained his designation in 1987.
Sandy joined Schibli Stedman King in 1996 after spending several years as an internal auditor for a large public company and a controller for a group of privately held companies. He has been a member of the Communications and the Practice Review and Licensing committees at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of B.C., and has been a member of the Tax Professional Development Committee at the institute, now CPABC, since 2001.
Since 2002 Sandy has been an author and instructor of taxation courses for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC and now CPABC. He has also been an instructor for taxation courses for the Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba Institutes of Chartered Accountants.
Sandy is married and has three grown children. When enjoying some downtime, Sandy spends time exploring the outdoors, skiing and traveling.
Brian grew up in Vancouver, graduated with honors from the University of Western Ontario and articled with a mid-sized Vancouver CA firm. He attained his designation in 1989. After working in London England and Northern BC, he joined the firm in 1995 and became a partner in 1998.
Brian has been providing tax planning, estate planning and practical financial advice to private enterprises and their owners for over twenty-five years.
Outside of the office, Brian plays hockey and skis in the winter and enjoys kayaking and cycling in the summer.
Sean has over 20 years of public practice experience specializing in providing tax and accounting advice to private business and their owners/managers.
Sean was born in Vancouver and raised in Vernon by parents from Ireland and England. He graduated from the University of Victoria in 1994 with a double major in Economics and Political Science.
Sean has three children at home and one traveling abroad. He enjoys building projects, restoring cars and helping out at the horse barn where the rest of the family can usually be found.
Chad joined Schibli Stedman King in 2007 after obtaining his professional designation in 2007 while articling with KPMG in Victoria and Vancouver. His primary focus is on accounting and tax services for owner-managed businesses and their shareholders with a strong emphasis on client service. Chad has an entrepreneurial background, being involved in a local family-run business.
Chad was born in Alberta before moving to the west coast in the mid 90’s. He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Victoria in 2004 and a Masters in Professional Accounting from the University of Saskatchewan in 2006. Chad has completed the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants In-depth tax course Part I, II and III.
Chad is married and has two children. He enjoys traveling, camping, going to the gym and playing hockey. He is involved with the Family Business Association Vancouver Island (FBA) which is an organization designed to provide support to family business.
Tristan joined Schibli Stedman King in 2008 and specializes in helping owner-managed companies. He has a focus on tax planning, including reorganizations, estate planning, the use of trusts and cross border issues.
Tristan obtained his designation in 2006 after completing his Bachelor of Technology in Accounting from BCIT. He articled with a local mid-sized accounting firm in Vancouver before joining the tax group at Ernst & Young. His background includes experience in reorganizations, international taxation, transfer pricing and transaction tax. Tristan has also completed the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants In-depth tax course Parts I, II and III.
Tristan enjoys teaching and has facilitated for the Chartered Accounting School of Business, taught part-time courses at BCIT and Camosun College, co-authored and taught courses for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC and has served as a facilitator for the Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada In-depth tax course for Parts I and II.
In his spare time, Tristan enjoys spending time with his son, marathon training, cycling and doing the odd triathlon.
